Data rights and removal requests
Process for access, correction, objection, suppression and deletion requests.
Last updated: 11 August 2026
Who can make a request?
A MapsData account holder or a person whose professional contact information may appear in MapsData results can exercise the rights available under applicable law. A duly authorised representative may also submit a request where permitted.
Available requests
- Ask whether personal data relating to you is processed and request a copy.
- Request available source information and categories of recipients.
- Correct inaccurate professional information.
- Object to use for direct marketing at any time.
- Request deletion or restriction where the legal conditions are met.
- Withdraw consent where consent is the applicable legal basis.
How requests will be handled
A request should identify the relevant professional email or business record and describe the requested action. Do not send identity documents unless they are specifically and lawfully requested.
Identity verification must be proportionate. Additional proof should be requested only where there is reasonable doubt, and any proof must be deleted when no longer needed.
Response time and cost
Requests should be handled without undue delay. Under the GDPR, the normal deadline is one month, with a possible two-month extension for complexity or volume if the person is informed within the first month. Rights are normally free of charge.
Suppression and downstream records
When a valid marketing objection is received, the relevant data must no longer be used for that purpose. A minimal suppression record may be retained to prevent renewed collection or contact.
Where required and reasonably possible, corrections, deletions or restrictions should be communicated to customers or other recipients to whom the data was disclosed. Future search results and caches should honour the suppression decision.
Complaints
A person may complain to the privacy authority in their country or region. This internal request process does not limit any right to contact a regulator or bring a legal claim.
